The Theatre Under Construction.
The Travelogue
The postdoctoral dissertation of the eminent Polish architect Boleslaw Stelmach, now the Director of the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning. The book summarizes the design process of Theatre Under Construction, the leading cultural institution and outstanding architectural landmark in the region.
The book in its form was meant to refer to the modern and stark character of the building itself. Spineless binding complements the architecture, which manifests the construction and diverse textures of the object. Double embossing on the cover reflects a characteristic texture of concrete walls. The refined design has brought the book a prestigious 50 Books | 50 Covers Award which resulted in wide coverage in the media and the need to double the planned print run.
